MANILA, Philippines- Nasabat ng ilang ahensya ng pamahalaan ang hanggang P100 milyong halaga ng puslit na agricultural products sa Kawit, Cavite.
Nadiskubre sa joint inspection ng Bureau of Customs, Department of Agriculture (DA) at ng Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) ang tinatayang limang container loads ng agricultural goods sa isang unregistered cold-storage warehouse, base sa press release mula sa BOC noong Miyerkules.
“This initiative was supported by a mission order and a letter of authority to inspect three warehouses suspected of storing illegally imported agricultural products without payment of correct duties and taxes,” anito.
“The swift action taken by the BOC and its partner agencies has thwarted a significant attempt to flood the market with unauthorized imported goods, potentially harming the local agriculture sector,” dagdag pa.
Isinarado na ang warehouse, habang nakatalaga ang mga awtoridad na magbabantay sa mga nakumpiskang produkto.
“This operation demonstrates our steadfast resolve to protect our local farmers and consumers from the adverse impacts of smuggling. We will continue to intensify our efforts to combat this illegal activity,” wika ni BOC Commissioner Bienvenido Rubio. RNT/SA
