MANILA, Philippines – Iniimbestigahan at biniberipika na ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) ang pag-ako ng terror group na ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) sa pambobomba sa isang misa na idinaraos sa Mindanao State University (MSU) gym sa Marawi City na kumitil sa buhay ng apat katao at ikinasugat ng 50 iba pa.
“The AFP is validating the claims made by ISIS in the recent news reports as well as the involvement of the DI (Daulah Islamiya)-Maute Group in this heinous acts of terror,” mensahe ni AFP public affairs office chief Col. Xerxes Trinidad nitong Lunes, Disyembre 4.
Ito ay kasunod ng ulat ng foreign media outlets na sinasabing inako na umano ng ISIS na sila ang responsable sa pag-atake.
Nagsimula na ang AFP ng imbestigasyon sa pakikipagtulungan sa Philippine National Police upang alamin ang “bomb signature that would help identify the terrorist group behind the bombing.”
Naka-alerto ang AFP upang masiguro ang kaligtasan ng publiko at mapanagot ang mga sangkot dito.
“The AFP remains committed to its mandate of protecting the people and the state from all various threat groups, foreign and domestic,” ani Trinidad.
Tumanggi namang magbigay ng pahayag si Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. sa “foreign element” na binanggit ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na nasa likod umano ng pag-atake.
“We are not at liberty to disclose but there is (a) strong indications of a foreign element,” dagdag pa niya. RNT/JGC
