MANILA, Philippines -Kinondena ni Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. ang pagbangga ng barko ng China Coast Guard sa barko ng Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) sa West Philippine Sea.
Aniya, ito ay paglabag sa international law na hindi dapat balewalain ng Pilipinas.
“Kung may nasaktan doon, that’s a criminal act na ginawa nila eh. It’s not merely a violation of maritime rules and regulations but a criminal act by the Chinese Coast Guard,” ani Teodoro.
Idinagdag pa niya seseryosohin ng defense department ang naturang paglabag sa international law.
“We will be addressing that. I’m not going to talk about specifics now pero, definitely, our personnel are already developing options for addressing this,” dagdag pa niya.
Ang insidente ay nangyari noong Biyernes, Setyembre 18 malapit sa Abad Santos Shoal na matatagpuan 54 nautical miles mula sa Palawan at pasok sa 200-nautical-mile exclusive economic zone (EEZ) ng bansa. RNT/JGC
