SEOUL- Ipinahiwatig ng opposition parties ang pagsusulong ng agarang pagpapatalsik kay South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol matapos itong pumayag sa hirit ng parlyamento na tanggalin ang martial law.
Idineklara ng grupo ng mahigit 40 mambabatas mula sa opposition parties na dapat tanggalin ng Assembly si Yoon, na tinawag na “the mastermind of a treasonous act of state mismanagement.”
Sinabi ni Hwang Un-ha, floor leader ng Rebuilding Korea Party, “The president committed an act tantamount to treason by mobilizing the military. It is clear that he cannot remain in office even for a moment longer. Therefore, we must urgently pass an impeachment motion.”
Hinimok ni Hwang ang bawat partido na ikasa ang impeachment motion ngayong Miyerkules. Dapat pagbotohan ang mosyon na ito sa loob ng 24 hanggang 72 oras matapos itong imungkahi.
“The National Assembly should focus on approving the impeachment as quickly as possible to immediately suspend the president’s duties,” aniya.
Nauna nang binatikos ni Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung ang martial law declaration sa pagsasabing labag umano ito sa batas. Sa kanyang pahayag matapos pagbotohan ang National Assembly resolution na itinutulak ang pagkalos sa martial law, iginiit niya, “President Yoon’s proclamation of martial law utterly failed to meet the substantive requirements stipulated by the Constitution and the Martial Law Act.”
“President Yoon has betrayed the people. His illegal declaration of martial law is null and void. From this moment, Yoon Suk Yeol is no longer the president of the Republic of Korea.” RNT/SA
