MANILA, Philippines – Inalis sa pwesto ang isang pulis sa bigo umanong pagprotekta sa motorcycle rider na hinarang ng mga lumahok rally na pinangunahan ng Iglesia ni Cristo (INC).
Sa press briefing nitong Biyernes, Hulyo 3,
sinabi ni Philippine National Police (PNP) public information chief Col. Allen Rae Co na ang patrolman na nakatalaga sa Quezon City Police District Mobile Force Battalion (QCPD MFB), ay inilagay sa Personnel Holding and Accounting Section (PHAS).
“He’s now placed under PHAS. That doesn’t have any bearing on the investigation. It’s for us to have quick access to him while the investigation is ongoing,” ani Co.
Ang PHAS ay holding unit para sa mga pulis na inalis sa pwesto o naghihintay ng bagong assignment.
“We would like to review everything that happened and all the circumstances regarding the incident. The QCPD has already been directed to talk to all parties concerned,” aniya.
Matatandaan na nag-viral ang video kung saan walang ginawa ang pulis sa kabila ng pagkuyog at panghaharass na ginagawa ng ilang mga lumahok sa rally laban sa rider.
Sinigawan, pinagbantaan at inagawan pa umano ng susi ang naturang rider.
Nitong Huwebes, binatikos ni Senador Raffy Tulfo ang pulis at sinabing dapat ay sumailalim ulit ito sa training.
“But if you really look at it, he was trying to pacify the situation, trying to reassure. That’s what we think… But, then again, we wouldn’t like to make any conclusions. We’re not saying the police officer had no fault here,” sagot naman ni Co dito.
“Regarding the statement of the good Senator Tulfo, we respect and we acknowledge his concern for the Philippine National Police. We will surely take into consideration his recommendation for retraining if warranted.” RNT/JGC
