Pasimuno ng ‘deepfake’ video ni PBBM tutugisin ng DICT, NBI

MANILA, Philippines – Makikipag-ugnayan ang Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) sa Philippine National Police (PNP) at National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) na habulin ang mga indibidwal na nasa likod ng “deepfake” video ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

Nagbabala si National Security Council Assistant Director General Jonathan Malaya na ang video ay maaaring gamitin upang guluhin ang mga isyu sa West Philippine Sea, tulad ng sinasabing “gentleman’s agreement” sa paghawak ng Ayungin Shoal.

“Pinagsabong yung mga Pilipino, pinagsabong tayong lahat eh, ngayon nagtuturuan na. Sino ‘yung ganito sino ‘yung ganyan, then we saw there was foreign hand that was manipulating, some form of information manipulation,” sabi ni Malaya sa panayam ng GMA News.

Binanggit ng Presidential Communications Office (PCO) noong Martes ng gabi ang isang manipuladong video na kumakalat online, na nagtatampok ng malalim na pekeng audio na ginagaya si Marcos at sinasabing nagtuturo sa militar na kumilos laban sa isang banyagang bansa.

“In this administration, this is the first time the voice of the president was copied to make a policy statement. In the past kasi the voice of the president and other past presidents were used for jokes,” sabi ni DICT Undersecretary Jeffrey Ian Dy.

Sinabi ng DICT na hiniling na rin nila sa YouTube na tanggalin ang nasabing video. Jocelyn Tabangcura-Domenden
