MANILA, Philippines – GINARANTIYA ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. nitong Lunes, Setyembre 15, na magpapatupad ang Department of Energy (DOE) ng mga panukalang magpapabilis sa pag-apruba ng renewable energy projects sa bansa.
Ipinahayag ng Pangulo ang pagtitiyak sa isinagawang ceremonial switch-on ng Citicore Solar Batangas 1 Power Plants, na kinikilala bilang kauna-unahang hybrid agro-solar at battery storage system sa Pilipinas.
“So, be assured that the Department of Energy will continue to implement measures that drive investments in the sector and expedite the approval of renewable energy projects,” ani Marcos sa kanyang talumpati.
“To our LGUs, I encourage you to strengthen your partnerships with investors so that more agro-solar projects can serve as models for both food and energy security,” dagdag pa ng Pangulo.
Ayon sa Presidential Communications Office (PCO), sakop ng Citicore Solar Batangas 1 Power Plants ang Lumbangan at Luntal Power Projects na may kabuuang 197 megawatts ng renewable energy, suportado ng isang 320 megawatt-hour battery storage system upang matiyak ang maaasahang suplay ng kuryente.
Inaasahan na makapagbibigay ang proyekto ng malinis na enerhiya sa humigit-kumulang 158,000 kabahayan at makababawas ng 265,000 tons ng carbon dioxide emissions taun-taon.
“This is equivalent to removing thousands of vehicles from the road,” ayon sa PCO.
Maliban sa produksiyon ng enerhiya, binigyang-diin ni Marcos na pinagsasama ng Citicore ang solar power generation at agrikultura sa pamamagitan ng paggamit ng agrivoltaics—isang pamamaraan ng pagtatanim ng mga pananim sa ilalim at paligid ng mga solar panel. (Kris Jose)
