MANILA, Philippines – Naghain ng reklamo ang Philippine Competition Commission (PCC) sa Department of Justice (DOJ) hinggil sa bid-rigging sa mga kontrata sa flood control.
Sinabi ni Assistant Director Genevieve Jusi, mula sa Competition Enforcement Commission ng PCC, ang reklamo ay sumasaklaw sa tatlong flood control projects sa Bulacan.
“Right now, we are looking at several entities and public officials,” saad ni Jusi.
Humihingi ang PCC ng posibleng pagsusuri at paunang imbestigasyon para matukoy ang pananagutan ng mga pampublikong opisyal at kontratista para sa posibleng paglabag sa Seksyon 14(a)(2) ng Republic Act No. 10667, o Philippine Competition Act, na nagbabawal sa bid-rigging.
Gayunman, tumanggi si Jusi na ibunyag ang pagkakakilanlan ng mga kontratista at mga opisyal ng Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
Samantala, sinabi ni Justice Undersecretary Jesse Hermogenes Andres na “[The] DOJ will evaluate the referral of the Philippine Competition Commission on possible violations of the Competition Act, particularly on bid rigging.”
“We will subpoena the respondents in due time when we are already ready to conduct the preliminary investigation,” dagdag niya. RNT/MND
