MANILA, Philippines- Mayroong 10 araw ang Philippine National Police (PNP) upang magsagawa ng forensic examination sa gadgets at iba pang devices na nasabat mula sa isang Chinese national na naaresto sa Makati City noong nakaraang buwan.
Kasunod ito ng paglalabas ng Quezon City Regional Trial Court 90 ng warrant to examine computer data (WECD) sa kagamitang nasamsam mula kay Yuhang Liu.
“We have turned over [these equipment] to the ACG (Anti-Cybercrime Group), specifically to the digital forensic unit of that office for examination,” pahayag ni Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) chief Maj. Gen. Leo Francisco sa isang press briefing sa Camp Crame, Quezon City.
“So the process is after the examination, the ACG will provide us the result. But if 10 days will not suffice, we will apply for additional time for this examination.”
Kabilang sa mga kagamitan ang tatlong mobile phones, isang radio receiver/transmitter, isang Huawei router, isang Apple tablet, Honor laptop, aerial drone, inverter unit, computer central processing unit at iba pang computer accessories.
Sinabi ni Francisco na kasalukuyang nakaditene ang suspek sa CIDG – National Capital Region habang hinihintay ang court order sa paglilipat sa kanya sa PNP Custodial Center sa Camp Crame.
Nadakip si Liu noong Mayo 29 sa Barangay San Isidro sa pagresponde sa isang gun-toting complaint.
Ayon sa complainant, pinilit siya ni Liu na mag-deliver ng unidentified communication hacking devices sa tirahan ng suspek.
Ilalagay umano ang kagamitang ito sa “vital installations” upang i-hack o magkaroon ng access sa international mobile equipment identity ng mobile phones. RNT/SA
