MANILA, Philippines- Pinayagan ng Pasig City court si Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) leader Apollo Quiboloy at lima niyang co-accused na dumalo sa pagpapatuloy ng Senate investigation sa umano’y human trafficking at sexual abuses sa religious organization na kasado sa Oktubre 23.
Ibinahagi ni Senate Deputy Minority Leader Risa Hontiveros ang kopya ng kautusan ni Pasig City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 159 Presiding Judge Rainelda Estacio-Montesa na pumapayag sa hirit ng Senate committee na presensya ni Quiboloy at kanyang mga co-accused sa legislative investigation sa kabola ng pagtutol ng religious leader.
Bukod kay Quiboloy, pinayagan ng korte sina Jackielyn Roy, Cresente Canada alyas Enteng, Ingrid Canada, Paulene Canada, at Sylvia Cemanes na dumalo sa Senate probe.
“After a careful evaluation of the arguments brought forth by the parties as well as the PNP, the Court hereby resolves to GRANT the request of the Honorable Chairperson of the Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations, and Gender Equality for the appearance of all Accused before the public hearing of the said Senate Committee on October 23,2024 at 10:00 a.m.,” saad sa kautusan.
Nahaharap si Quiboloy sa a non-bailable qualified human trafficking charge sa ilalim ng Section 4(a) of Republic Act No. 9208, as amended, sa Pasig City RTC Branch 159.
Samantala, hindi na tumugon ang Quezon City Branch 106, kung saan nahaharap din si Quiboloy sa kasong child abuse at sexual abuse, sa hiling ni Hontiveros na payagan si Quiboloy na dumalo sa Senate probe kasunod ng kautusan ng Pasig City court.
“I would like to inform you that replying to your letter has been rendered moot and academic, as the Pasig City Regional Trial Court already granted your request,” saad sa liham na ipinadala ni Branch Clerk of Court Kim Arniño kay Hontiveros.
Itinatanggi ng kampo ni Quiboloy ang mga alegasyon laban sa kanya. RNT/SA
