MANILA, Philippines – Inirekomenda ng Office of the City Prosecutor sa Quezon City ang pagbasura sa reklamong inihain ni Atty. Manases Carpio, asawa ni Vice President Sara Duterte, laban sa ilang miyembro ng Kamara at opisyal ng pamahalaan sa disclosure ng bank transaction records niya at Bise Presidente.
Sa 23 pahinang resolusyon, sinabi ng QC Prosecutor’s Office na ang aksyon ng mga respondent ay ginawa na may kaugnayan sa kanilang opisina at ang mga ito “are not inherently immoral.”
“The issuance of a subpoena for the production of AMLC reports, the manifestations made during the impeachment proceedings against the Vice-President of the Republic of the Philippines, and the compliance with the subpoena — these acts were done by the respondents, public officers with Salary Grade 28 and higher, in relation to their office,” saad sa resolusyon.
“By no stretch of the imagination could we rule that these acts of the respondents were done in their private capacity,” dagdag pa.
Kabilang sa mga respondent ng reklamo ay ang mga mambabatas na sina House Justice panel chair Gerville Luistro, House Senior Deputy Minority Leader Leila de Lima, House Deputy Minority Leader Antonio Tinio, Akbayan Party-List Representatives Percival Cendaña at Chel Diokno, Kabataan Party-list Representative Renee Co, Manila 3rd District Representative Joel Chua, at Bicol Saro Party-list Representative Terry Ridon.
Kabilang din sa respondents sina Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Governor Eli Remolona Jr., Insurance Commissioner Reynaldo Regalado, Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chairperson Francis Edralin, Lim, at Anti–Money Laundering Council (AMLC) Executive Director Ronel Buenaventura.
Inireklamo ang mga ito sa umano’y paglabag sa Bank Secrecy Law, the Data Privacy Act, at Anti-Money Laundering Act (AMLA).
Si Carpio ay naghain ng reklamo sa QC Prosecutor’s Office noong Abril, at muling naghain ng supplemental complaint noong Hulyo. RNT/JGC
