MANILA, Philippines – Dapat na maipakita ni House Majority Leader Ferdinand Alexander “Sandro” Marcos na hindi siya bias sa paghawak sa impeachment complaint laban sa kanyang ama na si Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
Sa press briefing sa Malakanyang, sinabi ni Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Undersecretary at Palace Press Officer Claire Castro na wala siyang impormasyon kung nagkausap na ang mag-ama ukol sa impeachment complaint na inihain araw ng Lunes hinggil sa di umano’y pagkakasangkot ng Pangulo sa 2025 corruption scheme na may kinalaman sa unprogrammed appropriations, bukod sa iba pang mga isyu.
“It was not mentioned to us whether they had spoken, but the President always orders his son to just do his job. Relatives and allies are not allowed here,” ayon kay Castro nang tanungin kung nagbigay ba ng anumang payo ang Pangulo sa kanyang anak na si Cong. Sandro.
“Whatever Congressman Sandro’s mandate is, he should implement it. He should not be biased, even if it is his father who will be included in the impeachment complaint,” ang sinabi ni Castro.
Sa ulat, inihain nitong Lunes sa Kamara ang kauna-unahang impeachment complaint laban kay Pangulong Marcos kaugnay ng umano’y korapsiyon sa 2025 budget partikular na sa unprogrammed funds.
Ang impeachment complaint ay isinampa ng pribadong indibidwal na si Atty. Andrei de Jesus at inendorso ni House Deputy Minority Leader at Pusong Pinoy Partylist Rep. Jernie “Jett” Nisay.
Kabilang sa grounds ng impeachment ay ang culpable violation sa Konstitusyon, betrayal of public trust at graft and corruption.
Ang reklamo ay tinanggap ni House Secretary General Cheloy Garafil.
Nang hingan ng paliwanag, sinabi ni Nisay na ang public funds ay dapat nakalaan sa essential social services partikular na ang pangangalaga sa kalusugan.
“Bilang Deputy Leader babantayan natin ang impeachment na ito kay PBBM,” saad ni Nisay.
Nabatid na si Nisay na nag-indorso ng impeachment laban kay PBBM ay isang kontraktor na nagmamay-ari ng JVN Construction Trading.
Kabilang siya sa 215 mambabatas na bumoto sa impeachment ni Vice President Sara Duterte noong Pebrero 2025.
Ibinuking naman ni House Senior Deputy Minority Leader at Caloocan City Rep. Edgar Erice na si Atty. De Jesus ay naging abogado rin ni First Lady Liza Marcos.
“It is strange that de Jesus filed the complaint against BBM when he is the same lawyer who defended FL Liza Marcos in Nov 2024 when he filed a disbarment case against Atty. Glen Chong for vilifying the First Lady. From defender to complainant,” sabi ni Erice.
Nauna ng sinabi ni Erice na mayroong maghahain ng impeachment complaint laban kay Marcos at VP Sara. (KRIS JOSE)
