MANILA, Philippines- Hindi muna magkokomento ang Kamara ukol sa inihaing petisyon sa Korte Suprema ni Vice President Sara Duterte hanggang sa hindi sila nakatatanggap ng kopya nito, ayon kay House Secretary-General Reginald Velasco.
Ayon kay Velasco, tanging sa media reports lamang nila nalaman ang hinggil sa petisyon ni Duterte na kumukuwestiyon sa legalidad ng impeachment complaint na isinumite ng Kamara sa Senado.
“Considering that we have not received copies of any of these petitions, we are constrained to wait until we are furnished copies before we respond to any query on the matter,” paliwanag ni Velasco.
Iginiit ni Velasco na sinunod ng Kamara ang constitutional protocol sa impeachment process.
“The House of Representatives ensured compliance with all constitutional requirements when it filed the Articles of Impeachment and transmitted it to the Senate,” paglilinaw ni Velasco.
Sa inihang petition for certiorari and prohibition ay hiniling ni Duterte sa SC na magpalabas ng Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) at writ of preliminary injunction upang pigilan ang pagdinig ng impeachmnent. Gail Mendoza
