MANILA, Philippines- Nangako si Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. nitong Biyernes na bibigyan ang militar ng kinakailangang kasangkapan upang tugunan ang mga hamon sa national security, kabilang ang umiigting na cybersecurity threats.
Sa kanyang talumpati sa 89th anniversary ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), binigyang-diin ni Marcos ang Self-Reliant Defense Posture Revitalization Program, nilalayong bawasan ang pag-depende sa foreign suppliers at pagpapalakas sa AFP upang paigtingin ang mga kapabilidad nito.
“Modernization is not simply about acquiring advanced equipment; it is about transforming the way we think, act, and operate as a unified force. To enhance our capabilities and preparedness, the country is now harnessing the latest technologies, reinforcing strategies, and enhancing the skills of every soldier, sailor, and airman,” pahayag ni Marcos.
“The threats we face today are no longer confined to our shores or traditional battlefields. The surge in cybersecurity threats, if unchallenged and unaddressed, will jeopardize our national security. Meanwhile, geopolitical developments and tensions continue to test our sovereignty and resolve,” dagdag niya.
Pinuri rin ng Pangulo ang AFP sa pagsisikap nito sa kabila ng mga hamon.
“You have become an agile and responsive force, attuned to the shifting demands of our security landscape. This is no small feat. As we honor your accomplishments, we must also prepare for the challenges ahead. The modern age demands that we face these evolving threats head-on,” dagdag niya. RNT/SA
