MANILA, Philippines- Iginiit ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., na ang “unity alliance” na nabuo sa pagitan ng Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) at National Unity Party (NUP) ay hindi isang “marriage of convenience.”
Sa isinagawang signing ceremony para sa PFP-NUP Alliance: Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas sa Kamagong Hall ng Manila Golf and Country Club sa Makati City, nagsanib ang dalawang Partido dahil kapwa ang kanilang ideolohiya ay pagkakaisa.
“Now, many commentators, undoubtedly, are going to say these are marriages of convenience. So, when they once again, when you hear that phrase marriage in convenience, then let us answer them: No unity is in fact our ideology,” ang sinabi ng Pangulo sa kanyang naging talmpati.
“Unity has brought the two parties together,” dagdag niya.
“We do have ideals. This is not just to win the next election. This is to make the Philippines a better place. And that is what we are doing here,” dagdag na pahayag ng Punong Ehekutibo.
Winika pa ng Chief Executive na nais ng alyansa na magtrabaho na mayroong parehong layunin.
“We are uniting behind the dream of transforming the Philippines and that dream will be achieved by unity. So, congratulations for joining that ideology, for believing in that ideology. It is the only way that we will make our country, the country that the Filipinos deserve,” ang sinabi ni Pangulong Marcos.
Sinabi pa ng Pangulo na akala aniya ng commentators na ang nangyaring “forging alliances” sa pagitan ng mga nasabing partido ay “usual political maneuverings” sa Philippine politics.
“Every candidate or perspective candidate or any political leader for that matter finds where is it best, what is the most politically advantageous place to be in terms of party affiliation,” ang tinuran ng Pangulo.
Subalit, sinabi ng Pangulo na ang alyansa ay “not a marriage of convenience” kundi isang pagkakaunawaan na ang pagkakaisa ay kailangan para gawin ang Pilipinas na isang moderno, ligtas at ‘sustainable’ na bansa.
Sa kabilang dako, mayroong daang miyembro ng PFP at NUP, binubuo ng mga gobernador, vice governors, local government officials at mambabatas ang dumalo at sinaksihan ang event.
Sa pagdating sa venue, inihatid ang Pangulo sa gitna para saksihan ang paglagda sa alliance agreement sa pagitan ng PFP at NUP.
Nagsilbing kinatawan ng PFP sina Special Assistant to the President Antonio Ernesto F. Lagdameo Jr.; Ilocos Norte Rep. Ferdinand Alexander A. Marcos; at PFP president South Cotabato Gov. Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr.
Sa kabilang dako, tumayo namang kinatawan ng NUP ang Chairman nito na si Ronaldo V. Puno, NUP president Camarines Sur Rep. Luis Raymund Villafuerte Jr. at Bataan Rep. Albert Garcia. Kris Jose
