MANILA, Philippines- Hanggang ngayon ay wala pa ring natatanggap na extradition request ang Embahada ng Pilipinas sa Estados Unidos para sa kontrobersyal na Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) leader na si Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.
Si Quiboloy ay idineklarang “wanted” ng US Federal Bureau of Investigation para sa kasong sex trafficking.
Sinabi ni Philippine Ambassador to the US Jose Manuel Romualdez, maaaring magpalabas ang Estados Unidos ng nasabing kautusan laban sa pastor ngunit sa ngayon ay wala pa ito.
““We were informed that there was potentially a request for his extradition but so far there has been none coming our way,” ayon kay Philippine Ambassador to the US Jose Manuel Romualdez.
Pwede rin aniya na ang US Embassy sa Maynila ang siyang magsumite ng request sa Department of Justice (DOJ).
“There are law enforcement representatives in the US Embassy that can make a request directly to our Department of Justice… It doesn’t necessarily have to come to us,” aniya pa rin.
Si Quiboloy na lider ng KOJC ay nakitaan ng probable cause ng federal grand jury sa US District Court para sa Central District of California para sa umano’y pakikipagsabwatan para sa sapilitang sex trafficking, fraud and coercion, sex trafficking of children at iba pang reklamo.
Naglagay na rin ang FBI noong 2022 ng posters ni Quiboloy kabilang ang dalawa pang kapwa akusado nito na kinilalang sina Teresita Tolibas Dandan and Helen Panilag.
Si Quiboloy ay “wanted for his alleged participation in a labor trafficking scheme that brought church members to the United States, via fraudulently obtained visas, and forced the members to solicit donations for a bogus charity, donations that actually were used to finance church operations and the lavish lifestyles of its leaders,” ayon sa FBI.
Tinuran ni Romualdez na “if a case, is in fact, filed against him (Quiboloy) in the Philippines then the extradition will probably, will have to take a back seat.”
“So it depends really on the Philippine government,” wika pa ni Romualdez.
Samantala, patuloy namang pinasisinungalingan ng kampo ni Quiboloy ang mga paratang laban sa kanya at sinabing plano talaga ng gobyerno na patahimikin siya.
Hindi naman tumitigil ang mga awtoridad sa Pilipinas sa kanilang manhunt operation laban sa pastor. Kris Jose
