MANILA, Philippines – Nagpasa ng resolusyon ang Metro Manila Council (MMC) na nagbibigay-mandato sa mga local government unit (LGU) sa Metro Manila na tumulong sa pagbawas ng mabigay na daloy ng trapiko sa mga lansangan.
Ayon sa resolusyon, ang working hours ng NCR LGUs ay aayusin mula sa traditional schedule na 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., ay gagawing 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. simula Abril 15.
“The persistent traffic congestion in Metro Manila demands innovative solutions for the improvement of commuting conditions and the well-being of the citizens of the NCR,” saad sa resolusyon.
“The findings derived from the MMDA study underscore the potential effectiveness of implementing a standardized working schedule for government offices in Metro Manila, particularly during peak hours, in reducing traffic congestion,” dagdag pa niya.
Inabisuhan ang mga LGU sa NCR na maglabas ng kani-kanilang ordinansa na mapapatupad ng adjusted working schedule.
Maaari ring mag-adopt ng adjusted working schedule ang mga ahensya ng pamahalaan sa NCR na nagbibigay ng essential services basta’t masiguro ang tuloy-tuloy na paghahatid ng serbisyo.
Sa MMDA Resolution No. 48 Series of 2024, na pinirmahan noong Pebrero 28, inirekomenda sa Pangulo na maglabas ng executive order para sa implementasyon ng modified working hours sa Metro Manila LGUs. RNT/JGC
