MANILA, Philippines – Tumaas sa P70 million o katumbas ng 378 percent ang yaman ni Vice President Sara Duterte mula 2008 hanggang 2024, o sa loob ng 16 na taon, ayon kay Bicol Saro Rep. Terry Ridon.
Ayon kay Ridon, Chairman ng House public accounts committee, na batay sa record ng Statements of Assets Liabilities and Networth ni Duterte noong 2008 ay P18.493 million ang yaman nito habang noong 2009 ay bumaba sa P18 million.
Subalit noong 2023 at 2024 SALN ni Duterte batay sa kopya na mayroon ang Office of the Ombudsman ay tumaas ito sa P77,508,841 at P88,512,370.22.
Sinabi ni Ridon na dapat tignan ng House Justice Committte ang SALN record ni Duterte.
“And if we will base it from the original SALN at 2008 to the 2024 SALN,it is an increase.. So, we leave it to the Justice Committee as to whether or not we would consider it as a case of unexplained wealth, which is essentially part of the impeachment offenses” ani Ridon.
Ayon kay Ridon, ang pagtaas ng SALN ni Duterte ay maihahalimbawa sa naging kaso noon ni Supreme Court Chief Justice Renato Corona na naimpeached dahil sa unexplained wealth.
“We are stating it for the record because this is the precise wording of the Corona articles of impeachment which had proceeded to the Senate and had resulted in a conviction. So, I think it is very clear that this is the process that we have to undertake and what the endorsers would want to undertake during the process of full proceedings can be undertaken,” pahayag ni Ridon sa impeachment hearing.
Sa panig ni House Justice Committee Chairman Gerville Luistro sinabi nito na ang ebidensya sa unexplained wealth ni Duterte kabilang na dito ang bank deposits ay hindi ipiprisinta sa komiote bagkus sa Senado ang siyang aaktong impeachment court. Gail Mendoza
