MANILA, Philippines – INIULAT ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) na na- neutralize nito ang 1,045 New People’s Army (NPA) rebels at kanilang taga-suporta sa isinagawang operasyon mula Enero 1 hanggang Agosto 13 ngayong taon.
Sa kabuuan, may 935 ang sumuko, 38 ang inaresto at 72 naman ang napatay sa iba’t ibang military operations.
“A total of 661 firearms and 255 anti-personnel mines were either seized or surrendered, and 38 encampments were seized,” ayon kay AFP spokesperson Col. Francel Margareth Padilla sa isang panayam.
Ang neutralisado ay isang military term na tumutukoy sa pagsuko, pagdakip o pagpatay sa mga enemy troops.
“The numbers give us an indication of the operational situation, but we should look beyond the numbers. The more significant story is that 935 CTG (communist terrorist group) members and supporters chose to surrender,” ang sinabi pa rin ni Padilla.
Sa ulat, taong 2025, sinabi ng militar na na-neutralize nito ang 2,018 NPA members at kanilang mga taga-suporta. Ang malaking bilang ng mga sumuko ay 1,798, habang 93 naman ang inaresto at 127 naman ang napatay.
Mayroon namang 1,134 firearms at 531 anti-personnel mines ang nasamsam o isinuko at 149 NPA encampments ang nasakote. KRIS JOSE
