MANILA, Philippines- Dumating na ang mga labi ng dalawang pilotong namatay sa FA-50 fighter jet crash sa Villamor Air Base sa Pasay City nitong Sabado.
Hindi nakadalo si Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. sa arrival honors para kina Major Jude Salang-Oy at First Lieutenant April John Dadulla dahil sa urgent matter.
Si Special Assistant to the President Anton Lagdameo ang nagsilbing kinatawan ng Chief Executive.
Dumalo rin sa pagsalubong sa mga labi na inilipad mula Lumbia Airport sa Cagayan de Oro City sakay ng C-130 aircraft, sina Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr., Armed Forces of the Philippines chief of staff General Romeo Brawner Jr., Philippine Air Force commanding general Lieutenant General Arthur Cordura, at mga pamilya ng mga nasawing piloto.
”In recognition of their extraordinary courage and selfless service, both officers were posthumously awarded the Distinguished Aviation Cross, the highest honor for valor and exceptional contributions to military aviation. Their heroism in the face of danger reflects the very best of the Air Force’s values,” pahayag ng PAF.
”To honor the fallen fighter pilots, vigil nights will be observed at Villamor Air Base and Basa Air Base, to allow fellow airmen to pay their respects and tribute. The interment details are still to be finalized by their respective families,” dagdag nito.
Nawala ang FA-50 fighter jet na may tail number 002 nitong Martes ng umaga sa kasagsagan ng tactical night operation bilang suportra sa ground troops, base sa PAF.
Natagpuan nitong Miyerkules ng umaga ang wasak na aircraft at ang dalawang bangkay sa bisinidad ng Mt. Kalatungan Complex. RNT/SA
