MANILA, Philippines- Arestado ang tatlong katao matapos nakumpiskahan ng P3.5 milyon recycled na mantika nang salakayin ng mga ahente ng Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), kung saan nakumpiska ang recycled at hindi rehistradong mantika na nagkakahalaga ng P3.5 milyon, kamakailan sa lalawigan ng Isabela.
Ayon kay CIDG chief Maj. Gen. Nicolas Torre III, nadakip ang mga suspek na kilala sa mga pangalang Bonaleth, may-ari ng NB Cooking Oil Trading; Catherine, kahera, at John, na siyang nagde-deliver ng kanilang mga mantika.
Sa inilabas na report nitong Lunes ng CIDG, sinalakay noong Pebrero 26, 2025 ang bodega ng mga recycled na mantika sa Barangay Buenavista, Santiago City.
Nakumpiska ng mga awtoridad sa nasabing lugar ang 173 galon ng mantika, mounted storage, digital weighing scale, funnel, 1 closed van, at isang 10-wheeler tanker truck na may nakatatak na “NB Cooking Oil.”
Agad namang ikinandado ng Food and Drug Administration (FDA) North Luzon Cluster ang bodega dahil sa hindi pagsunod sa mga batas at regulasyon.
Nahaharap ngayon ang mga suspek sa kasong paglabag sa Section 11(K) of Republic Act 9711 (Food and Drug Administration Act of 2009) for selling unregistered or misbranded health products; RA 7394 (Consumer Act of the Philippines) for false labeling and unsafe goods; at RA 10611 (Food Safety Act of 2013) for violating food safety standards and selling adulterated or misbranded products.
“Rest assured that your CIDG is relentless in enforcing the laws to protect consumers. The sale of unregistered, misbranded or unsafe food products poses serious health risks and violates regulations,” wika ni Torre .
“We urge the public to be vigilant by checking labels, FDA registration, and safety compliance. Just report all criminalities and illegal trade practices in your localities and your CIDG will do the rest,” dagdag niya. Mary Anne Sapico
