MANILA, Philippines – Nasa tatlong milyong manggagawa ang kakailanganin para makumpleto ang mega infrastructure projects sa ilalim ng administrasyon ni Pangulong Ferdinand marcos Jr.
Ito ang sinabi ni Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Manuel Bonoan nitong Martes, Agosto 8, kung saan kasalukuyang mayroon ang ahensya na P800 bilyon na capital outlay sa 70,000 na malalaki at maliliit na kontrata sa bansa.
“Siguro ang requirement namin dito na threshold na program namin is almost about more than three million labor force ‘no that will be comprising of skilled and unskilled people ‘no on the year to year basis. And ang sabi ko nga kanina, this is just the start of the big infrastructure development program of the country,” sinabi ni Bonoan sa Malacañang briefing.
Aniya, ang pribadong sektor ang magbibigay ng mga manggagawa sa pamamagitan ng mga kontraktor at suppliers.
Sa kabila nito, ang training ay isasagawa naman sa pakikipagtulungan ng Department of Labor and Employment at Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.
“There are other infrastructure programs of government. They are big. Including the Department of Transportation, they have big projects as well that are going to be implemented starting this year and all the way to the term of the President,” dagdag pa ni Bonoan. RNT/JGC
