$500M loan pinapantsa ng DOF para sa relief effort sa hagupit ni ‘Carina’

MANILA, Philippines- Binabalak ng national government ng humiram ng  $500 milyon upang suportahan ang relief at recovery efforts sa mga lugar na sinalanta ni bagyong Carina, ayon sa Department of Finance (DOF).

Inanunsyo ni Finance Secretary Ralph G. Recto na inihahanda ng DOF na gamitin ang standby credit line sa Pilipinas mula sa World Bank, o ang Climate Development Policy Loan with a Catastrophe-Deferred Drawdown Option (CAT-DDO5).

Alok ng World Bank loan facility ang agarang pondo para sa pangangasiwa ng epekto ng climate change, natural disasters, at disease outbreaks.

“These funds will be immediately withdrawn and released once the President declares a state of calamity,” ani Recto nitong Miyerkules.

“This will allow us to rapidly deliver critical services like healthcare, shelter, and food to those affected by typhoon Carina as well as fund post-disaster emergency response, recovery, and reconstruction efforts,” dagdag ng finance chief.

Kinakailangan ng presidential declaration ng state of calamity o public health emergency upang maipalabas ang pondo sa ilalim ng standby credit facility. RNT/SA
