6 Filipino crew members ng M/T Wind na inatake ng Houthi, nakauwi na

MANILA, Philippines – Dumating na sa Pilipinas ang anim na Filipino crew members ng oil tanker na M/T Wind na inatake ng Houthi.

Sakay ng Philippine Airlines flight PR512 ay lumapag ang mga Filipino crew member sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal sa Parañaque City nitong Biyernes ng gabi, Hulyo 6, ayon sa Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).

Matatandaan na naglunsad ng isang anti-ship ballistic missile ang Houthi rebels sa Red Sea noong Mayo 18 at tinamaan ang Panamanian-flagged at Greek-owned and -operated oil tanker na may sakay na 23 Filipino crew members.

Ang M/T Wind ay galing sa Sheskharis terminal sa Black Sea port sa Russia na Novorossiysk at nagkarga ng langis na patungo sa China.

“A coalition vessel immediately responded to the distress call by M/T Wind, but no assistance was needed. The crew of M/T Wind was able to restore propulsion and steering, and no casualties were reported. M/T Wind resumed its course under its own power,” iniulat ng United States Central Command.
