64% tapyas sa budget, ‘di makaaapekto sa operasyon ng OP- Recto

MANILA, Philippines – MAGPAPATULOY ang operasyon ng Office of the President (OP) sa kabila ng panukalang 64% tapyas sa budget nito para sa susunod na taon.

Kasunod ito ng pag-endorso ng House committee on appropriations ng P10.15 bilyon ng budget request para sa 2027.

Ang nabanggit na pondo ay 64% na mas mababa kaysa sa kasalukuyang budget ng tanggapan ng Pangulo na P28 bilyon.

Ayon kay Executive Secretary Ralph Recto, sasapat pa rin ang inirekomendang pondo para pangasiwaan ang operasyon ng gobyerno mula sa pagtugon sa kalamidad, paghahatid ng serbisyo publiko, pag-moni¬tor sa mga planong pang-ekonomiya, at pagprotekta sa pambansang interes.

““We are asking for less while remaining fully prepared to do more,” ani Recto.

Ang panukalang budget ay katumbas ng one-seventh lamang ng 1 percent ng panukalang P7.2 trillion national budget, subalit sapay para suportahan ang day-to-day functions ng Pangulo, kabilang na ang Cabinet meetings, policy consultations, presidential engagements at inter-agency coordination.

“The funding will support government responses to emergencies, delivery of assistance to vulnerable sectors, monitoring of economic plans and protection of national interests,” ang pahayag ni Recto.

Sa panukalang budget, P7.46 billion o 74 percent ang inilaan para sa Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses; P1.86 billion o 18 percent para sa Personnel Services; at P839 million o 8 percent para sa Capital Outlay.

Ani Recto ang pagtapyas sa budget ay hindi nangangahulugan na pagbawas sa mga pangangailangan ng OP.

“Every day, the President’s schedule is full because the demands of governing do not pause. But activity alone is not our measure of performance,” aniya pa rin.

Samantala, sinabi ni Recto na ang budget ay inihanda alinsunod sa rules at proseso ngDepartment of Budget and Management (DBM).
