MANILA, Philippines – Arestado ng mga awtoridad ang siyam na Chinese nationals sa pinagsanib na operasyon sa Sultan Kudarat laban sa illegal foreign workers.
Ang mga dayuhan ay naaresto sa raid sa Helen Grace S. Camsa Precious Metal Mining Company, na matatagpuan sa Sitio Mangas, Barangay Chua sa Bagumbayan, Sultan Kudarat.
Ang siyam na dayuhan ay lumabag umano sa Philippine Immigration Act sa pagtatrabaho nang walang kaukulang work visa, sa pagiging undocumented aliens, at misrepresentation.
Ayon kay Lt. Col. Tristan Rey Vallescas, commander ng Army’s 7th Infantry Battalion, ang joint operation ay binubuo ng mga tauhan mula sa Bureau of Immigration-Regional Intelligence and Operation Unit Region 11, Army intelligence units, Bagumbayan municipal police personnel at 7IB troopers, na nagpatupad ng mission order na inisyu ni Immigration Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado na may petsang Abril 7, 2025, laban sa mga suspek. against the suspects.
Napag-alaman na illegal na nagtatrabaho ang mga hindi dokumentadong dayuhan, sa konstruksyon ng isang mining processing plant na walang kaukulang work permits.
“Our unit stands ready to assist in operations that uphold the sovereignty of our nation and protect our communities from unlawful practices,” pahayag ni Vallescas.
