MANILA, Philippines – Sinabi ni Speaker Martin Romualdez na itatayo ang Philippine Cancer Center sa Quezon City na magsisilbing “sanctuary of healing and hope” sa libo-libong Filipino na nakikipaglaban sa cancer.
Sa groundbreaking ng 20-story, P3.6-billion building sa Quezon Avenue, sinabi ng House leader na ito ang misyon ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na bigyan ng komprehensibo, mura at accessible na health care ang mga Filipino.
“This mission is what we are all helping to fulfill today,” ani Romualdez.
“Each year, thousands are diagnosed and even more are left without adequate support. This center is our response—to not only decrease mortality and morbidity but to also lessen the incidence of preventable cancers.”
Dumalo rin sa event ang iba pang mambabatas at government officials kabilang sina Ako Bicol Rep. Zaldy Co, na nangunguna sa House committee on appropriations, Public Works Secretary Manuel Bonoan at local executives.
Sa pamamagitan ng komite, naglaan ang Kamara ng badyet sa fixed assets at critical services ng Cancer Center na angkop sa National Integrated Cancer Control Act at Resource Stratified Framework na itinakda ng National Integrated Cancer Control Council. RNT/JGC
