MANILA, Philippines- Pinagtibay ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) ang election watchdogs Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) at National Movement for Free Elections (NAMFREL) bilang citizens’ arms para sa 2025 National and Local Elections (NLE).
“The Commission, after due deliberation, resolved, as it hereby resolves, to approve the continuing accreditation of the PPCRV and NAMFREL as citizens’ arms in any and all elections, plebiscites, recalls, and referenda,” anunsyo ng Comelec sa two-page decision na ipinalabas nitong Huwebes.
Pinagsusumite ang poll watchdogs ng kumpletong listahan ng mga opisyal kabilang ang kanilang kaukulang provincial, municipal, at city coordinators o katumbas nito; komprehensibong plan of action at mga aktibidad hanggang sa 2025 NLE at pagkatapos nito; at report of accomplishments at mga rekomendasyon matapos ang electoral exercise.
“Non-compliance shall result to the revocation of said continuing accreditation,” anang Comelec.
Tungkulin ng citizens’ arm na asistihan ang Comelec sa voter registration drive nito, tiyakin ang integridad ng voters’ list, at tumulong sa voter education at information activities.
Mandato ng citizens’ arm na tulungan ang Comelec sa paghahanda para sa eleksyon tulad ng “planning, procurement, testing, evaluation, ballot and election document printing, among others; provide citizen watchers in polling places; as well as help the commission in post-election activities as deemed necessary.” RNT/SA
