MANILA, Philippines- Nagbabala ang National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) nitong Huwebes laban sa violators ng SIM Registration Act, partikular sa mga nagbebenta ng pre-registered SIMs.
Inihayag ng NTC na nakipag-usap ito sa telcos, SIM distributors, at dealers upang talakayin ang kahalagahan ng pagtalima sa SIM Registration Act.
Inihayag ng telecommunications regulator na binibigyang-diin nito ang pagbabawal sa pagbebenta ng pre-registered SIM cards at “irregular forms” ng pag-asisti sa rehistrasyon.
Batay sa SIM Registration Law, sinabi ng NTC na ang pagbebenta ng pre-registered SIM cards “pose serious risks to public safety.”
Anito, maaaring makulong ang mga lalabag hanggang anim na taon o pagmultahin ng hanggang P300,000, o pareho.
“The NTC is committed to ensuring the integrity of SIM registration processes across the telecommunications industry,” giit ni NTC Commissioner Ella Blanca Lopez.
“Through these dialogues, we aim to clarify regulatory requirements and expectations while fostering cooperation among telcos, distributors and dealers to uphold the law,” dagdag ni Lopez.
Anang NTC, kinakailangang makipag-ugnayan sa industry stakeholders upang magbigay-kaalaman at isulong ang pagtalima sa regulatory standards.
