MANILA, Philippines- Nangako ang Philippine National Police (PNP) na magsasampa ng criminal charges laban sa mahuhuling pumoprotekta kay dating presidential spokesperson Harry Roque sa gitna ng gumugulong na operasyon upang arestuhin siya base sa kautusan ng House of Representatives.
Inihayag ito ni PNP spokesperson Col. Jean Fajardo matapos tila hamakin ni Roque ang kapulisan nang mag-upload siya ng isang video para sa kanyang online program—sa parehong video kung saan sinabi niyang sinadya niyang maantala ang pag-upload ng video upang hindi siya matunton.
“For someone who is an officer of the court, what we can say to him is prudence dictates that he should not make any insinuations that he could continuously hide from law enforcement agencies,” giit ni Fajardo.
“He can run, yes but he cannot hide forever,” patuloy niya.
Sinabi ni Fajardo na ang PNP, sa pamamagitan ng Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), ay patuloy na nagsasagawa ng operasyon upang iharap si Roque sa Quad-Committee ng House of Representatives na nagpalabas ng arrest warrant.
Kasalukuyang iniimbestigahan ng Quad-Committee ang drug war at ang illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs) sa bansa.
Sa nasabing imbestigasyon, iniuugnay si Roque sa illegal POGOs, matapos maaresto ang wanted POGO operator sa loob ng bahay na pagmamay-ari umano nito.
“We would like to warn that there are cases that could be filed for coddling wanted persons. Once we have sufficient evidence, we will pursue cases against them,” giit ni Fajardo. RNT/SA
