MANILA – Habang ipinagdiriwang ng bansa ang All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days, nagpahayag ng pag-asa si Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. na ang dalawang araw na nakagawiang paggunita ay muling magpapasigla sa mga tao sa mas mabuting Pilipino at mas mabuting katiwala ng Pilipinas.
“Let this day of memorial rekindle us to be better persons, better Filipinos, and better stewards of our beloved nation,” ani Marcos sa kanyang Undas 2024 message.
Ani Marcos na ang Undas ay nagbibigay ng tyansa sa mga Pinoy para maalala ang mga tao na nagbigay-daan “for our present prosperity through their example of faith and love for others”.
Ang All Souls’ Day ay oras para sa “reflection by which we recall the deceased faithful who led lives of honor, sacrifice, and service,” ayon sa Chief Executive.
“This is the opportune moment to fortify our bond for the betterment of our spiritual life, not only with the Divine but also with one another,” aniya pa.
Gayundin, hinikayat niya ang mga Pilipino na gumugol ng oras sa pamilya at mga mahal sa buhay, bisitahin ang kanilang mga yumao, at “mag-alay ng ating taos-pusong panalangin para sa kanila, at magpahayag ng matinding pasasalamat sa kanilang epekto sa ating buhay.”
“May this remind us of the values that shall endure through us as a nation: faith, resilience, and hope,” anang Presidente.
“Reflecting on our journey in this world, let us strive to live with love and compassion for others, ever seeking the common good, just as the saints and our loved ones did in their time,” dagdag pa niya.
Ginugunita ng Undas ang taunang pagdiriwang ng All Saints’ Day (Nov. 1) at All Souls’ Day (Nov. 2), dalawang piging ng mga Kristiyano na nagpapaalala sa buhay ng mga santo at kaluluwa ng mga yumao. RNT
