DAVAO CITY- Pinasalamatan ni Veronica “Kitty” Duterte, bunsong anak ni dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte, ang mga Pilipino, partikular ang Davaoeños, nitong Martes, para sa kanilang suporta sa kanyang ama sa kabila ng kinahaharap na mga kontrobersiya.
“I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the love and support you have shown (for my father). As a daughter, I cannot thank you enough,” pahayag ni Veronica sa isang liham para sa mga Pilipino at Davaoeños na ibinahagi sa social media.
“I have never seen patriotism as fervent as his. His love for his country runs deep in his core, roots, and unequivocal pride in being a Filipino. Although it is not wrong to put family first, he is the only public servant who prioritizes his country.”
“Our strength gives him strength—take it from a daughter who truly knows him. If he were here, I’d proudly tell him: ‘I believe the most crucial element to our victories is the fact that we do not please people’,” aniya pa.
Inihayag ni Veronica na alam ng nakatatandang Duterte ang pagkapanalo ng kanyang mga anak, apo, at iba pang kandidato at nagpapasalamat hindi lamang dahil nahalal sila, kundi dahil sa ibinigay sa kanilang pagkakataon.
Sa pagtatapos ng liham ni Veronica, pinagtibay niya ang dedikasyon ni Duterte sa public service sa gitna ng mga hamong kinaharap kamakailan ng pamilya Duterte. RNT/SA
