Mga pinagpipiliang humalili kay PNP chief Marbil pinangalanan

MANILA, Philippines- Inilahad ng Philippine National Police (PNP) nitong Martes ang ilang pangalan ng potensyal na kahalili ni Police General Rommel Marbil, na nakatakdang mapaso ang termino sa June 7.

Sa press briefing, sinabi ni PNP public information office chief Police Colonel Randulf Tuaño na kwalipikadong mamuno sa PNP ang mga sumusunod:

• Lieutenant General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., deputy chief for administration of the PNP

• Lieutenant General Robert Rodriguez, deputy chief for operations of the PNP

• Lieutenant General Edgar Alan Okubo, chief of the directorial staff of the PNP

• Police Major General Nicolas Torre III, chief of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group

• Police Major General Anthony Aberin, chief of the National Capital Region Police Office

Binanggit ni Tuaño ang mga kwalipikasyon base sa Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Act of 1990 maging mga karaniwang konsiderasyon sa pagpili ng PNP chief.

“Ito ay manggagaling sa listahan ng National Police Commission na ibibigay sa ating Pangulo na ang pagpipilian po, ang wording siya po ay the most senior and qualified officer in the service,” pahayag niya.

“Basta po may ranggo na Police Brigadier General ay qualified na po na maging kandidato po sa pagiging next chief,” dagdag ng opisyal.

Ayon  pa kay Tuaño, ang mga miyembro ng PNP Command Group ang mga karaniwang kandidato para sa top post.

Noong Pebrero, pinalawig ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. ang termino ni Marbil ng apat pang buwan. Umabot na si Marbil sa compulsory retirement age na 56 noong February 7. RNT/SA
