MANILA, Philippines – MAGSASAGAWA ng imbestigasyon ang Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) kaugnay sa di umano’y 400 Chinese na nagtatrabaho para sa DITO Telecommunity Corp. nang walang kaukulang working visas.

Inamin ni DICT spokesperson Assistant Secretary Renato “Aboy” Paraiso na ang ahensiya ay “no visibility on that particular issue” hanggang sa ipost ng kolumnistang si Ramon Tulfo sa kanyang Facebook ang kanyang pahayag na ang DITO Tel ay may mga trabahador na Chinese nationals na “have over-extended their tourist visas.”

“Now that we have [knowledge] we will investigate… The DICT-CICC (Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center) will formally do an investigation,” ang sinabi ni Paraiso.

Nakasaad sa post na mayroong 400 di umano’y “overstaying” Chinese ay maaaring mapanganib sa national security habang nagtatrabaho ang mga ito para sa telecom company.”

Sinabi pa ni Paraiso na ang DICT ay nag-reach out sa Bureau of Immigration “because the first allegation is the over[staying] visas.”

“[But] since this is a telco that we are talking about, our attached agency which is the NTC (National Telecommunications Commission) would also be an active partner in this investigation,” aniya pa rin.

Ang imbestigasyon ayon kay Paraiso, na pangungunahan ng CICC at NTC, “would investigate as far as our ICT infrastructure and systems are being used illegally by overstaying foreigners.”

Bilang tugon, sinabi ng media communications team ng telco na “discussing internally and we will get back to you.”

Kris Jose
