MANILA, Philippines – Humingi ng tawad si Congresswoman Leila de Lima nitong Sabado, Hulyo 26, sa Korte Suprema sa kanyang naging reaksyon sa desisyon nito sa impeachment case ni Vice President Sara Duterte sa pagsasabing ito ay batay sa maling impormasyon.
Binatikos kasi ng Mamamayang Liberal representative ang desisyon ng SC na ipatigil ang impeachment ni Duterte sa pagsasabing hindi binigyan ng pagkakataon ang Kamara na mag-komento sa mga petisyon.
“I regret and most humbly apologize to the Supreme Court for characterizing the impeachment decision as ex-parte (from one party),” ani De Lima.
“That portion of my statement saying the House was not given an opportunity to comment on the impeachment petitions was grossly ill-advised as it was based on patently wrong information,” dagdag pa.
Ani De Lima, hindi nito layong “to falsely accuse the Supreme Court of not considering the side of the respondent House of Representatives.”
Aniya, napag-alaman niya kalaunan na ang mga komento ng Kamara sa dalawang impeachment petitions ay ikinonsidera ng Korte.
“There is no excuse for this mistake and I bear full responsibility for the same,” sinabi pa ni De Lima.
Samantala, nanawagan naman ng panalangin at respeto si Senador Alan Peter Cayetano para sa ruling ng SC.
“Lord, turuan Niyo kami, how do we be on your side? Ano ba Lord ang tama?”
Ani Cayetano, nagulat siya at nadismaya sa mga “credible lawyer” at commentator na nagsabing ang SC ay walang karapatang mag-isyu ng ruling sa constitutionality ng impeachment case
“Kung may question kung tama y’ung proseso, kung tama y’ung charges, kung may jurisdiction, et cetera, ‘yan po ay sa SC talaga,” aniya. RNT/JGC
