MANILA, Philippines – Proud si Sofronio Vasquez na mapili para umawit ng “Lupang Hinirang” sa ikaapat na State of the Nation Address ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
Matatandaan na nakilala si Sofronio matapos manalo sa “The Voice USA” season 26.
“Nakakatuwa and I was overwhelmed kasi bihira ‘yung chances,” ani Vasquez sa isang panayam.
“Karangalan talaga to sing in front of the president just to honor the country and of course, it is televised. So all of the people, even the world, will be able to watch this momentous event,” dagdag pa nito.
Lumipad pa si Vasquez mula Amerika patungong Pilipinas para lamang sa event na ito.
“Personally and professionally, it’s a great honor. Nakadagdag siya ng aking self-esteem and recognition and worth as a performer and professional singer.”
“I would technically say that I’m a professional singer right now kasi na-invite na ako to sing in front of the president for a very specific and very important matter, which is the State of the Nation Address. We get to appreciate his work, and nakakatuwa lang talaga,” ayon pa kay Vasquez.
Noong nakaraang SONA, ang multi-awardee ng WCOPA 2024 na si Blessie Mae Abagat ang napiling umawit ng Lupang Hinirang. RNT/JGC
