Manila, Philippines- Sampung nominasyon ang nakuha ng pelikulang Mamay: A Journey to Greatness, sa 73rd FAMAS Awards. Ang dalawa rito ay ang Best Picture at Best Director for Neal Buboy Tan. Pito rito ay kanilang napanalunan.
Ang FAMAS ay naganap nu’ng Friday, August 22 sa Manila Hotel.
Sabi ni DIrek Neal, “Malaki ang pasasalamat namin sa FAMAS. Malaking bagay na po ‘yung nominasyon.
“Kasi, hindi namin talaga akalain na maiko-consider yung palikula namin na pinaghirapan namin.
“Almost 1 year yata namin itong ginawa.
“At saka si Mayor Mamay talaga, alam namin ‘yung malasakit niya sa pelikulang ito. Talagang hands-on siya,” aniya pa.
Samantala, super happy din si Nunungan Vice Mayor Marcos Mamay sa mga nominasyon at awards na nakuha ng kanyang biopic.
“Of course, knowing na this is my first movie bilang isang prodiucer. So isang napakalaking karangan na napansin agad tayo. Sampung nominasyon po ang nakuha namin at pitong award, so, maraming-maraming salamat po sa FAMAS,” sabi ni Mamay.
The biographical drama took home seven awards, including five major film honors and two special distinctions for Mayor Mamay.
The film earned recognition across key categories, showcasing excellence both on-screen and behind the camera:
Best Supporting Actor – Jeric Raval
Best Production Design – Cyrus Khan
Best Cinematography – Gilbert Obispo
Best Musical Score
Best Song – “Hamon” (performed by Gerald Santos, composed by Vehnee Saturno)
Producer of the Year – Mamay Productions
Presidential Awardee – Hon. Marcos Mamay
