PASIG CITY, Philippines – Nasamsam ng mga awtoridad ang 50 beep card na binebenta online, ayon sa Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group nitong Martes.
Sa pahayag ng PNP-ACG, isang babae, 32-anyos ang inaresto noong Biyernes, Agosto 15, dahil umano sa pagbebenta ng unauthorized at overpriced na beep cards.
Siya ay nahaharap sa mga kaso dahil sa paglabag sa Access Devices Regulation Act of 1998, na sinususugan ng Access Devices Regulation Act at Consumer Act of the Philippines, na parehong may kaugnayan sa Cybercrime Prevention Act.
“The illegal sale of Beep cards not only violates consumer protection laws but also exploits commuters who rely on them daily,” saad ni PNP-ACG acting director Brigadier General Bernard Yang.
“The PNP-ACG will continue to crack down on individuals who engage in such unlawful online activities to protect the public from abuse and deception,” dagdag niya. RNT/MND
