MANILA, Philippines – Posibleng ipatawag ng House joint probe si Ako-Bicol Rep. Zaldy Co kung mapatunayang may koneksyon siya sa mga iregular na kontrata sa flood control projects, ayon kay Public Accounts Chair Terry Ridon nitong Miyerkoles.
“Kung may ebidensiya ng anomalous transaction… na konektado sa kanya, obligado kaming imbitahin siya,” ani Ridon.
Sa kabilang banda, sinabi rin ni Ridon na mas mainam na ang alegasyon ni Navotas Rep. Tobias Tiangco hinggil sa budget insertions ni Co ay dinggin ng Appropriations Committee, dahil nakatuon ang kasalukuyang imbestigasyon sa ghost at substandard projects.
“The Appropriations Committee is probably a good committee for it, if he wants to reform the budget process. I’m not quite certain how this [position of Congressman Tiangco] is relevant on flood control,” paliwanag ng solon.
“We have to be very clear that what the nation wants is really to have actual accountability on what had happened in some standard and ghost projects. Issues relating to budget insertion, congressional initiatives, will have its day. Because this [is]an investigation on actual flood control projects,” giit pa ni Ridon.
“It is just Congressman Tiangco raising it. If he actually wants to do it, he should file an actual resolution looking into this budget insertion.”
Susunod namang titingnan ng panel ang mga flood control projects na mismong ininspeksyon ni Pangulong Marcos Jr. at napatunayang substandard.
Ito’y kasunod ng pag-amin ni Bulacan engineer Henry Alcantara na pinirmahan niya ang certificate of completion para sa P55-milyong ghost project sa Baliwag. RNT
