MANILA, Philippines – Nagbabala ang National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) sa taktika umano ng rebeldeng komunista na sinasamantala ang galit ng publiko sa korapsyon sa gobyerno upang makapag-recruit ng mga bagong miyembro.
“The most dangerous form of corruption is not only the plunder of public coffers but the corruption of the Filipino mind,” ayon kay NTF-ELCAC executive director, Undersecretary Ernesto Torres Jr., sa isang kalatas.
Sinabi ni Torres na na-establish ng task force na ginagamit ng mga rebeldeng komunista ang isyu ng korapsyon para makapanghikayat ng mga bagong kasapi, partikular ang kabataan at iba pang mula sa vulnerable sectors.
“Former rebels, especially the youth, have long attested that corruption in the bureaucracy was among the systemic reasons they were agitated into taking up arms,” ani Torres.
“They have also revealed how the Communist Party of the Philippines–New People’s Army–National Democratic Front (CPP–NPA–NDF) exploits this reality by preying on the youth, students, and vulnerable sectors, including even public servants, by twisting legitimate grievances into recruitment tactics for violent extremism,” dagdag niya.
Naglabas ng pahayag ang NTF-ELCAC habang patuloy na laman ng mga balita ang isyu ng korapsyon na kinasasangkutan ng mga government flood control projects.
Iginiit ni Torres na may pangangailangan na tiyakin na ang mga paaralan at komunidad ay nananatiling ligtas na lugar para sa lehitimong debate at constructive civic engagement.
“We have to be alarmed when, instead of fostering genuine love for our country, they become pipelines for terror grooming by the CPP-NPA-NDF,” ani Torres.
Dahil dito, hinikayat niya ang mga magulang, guro, civil servants, at mga komunidad na “remain vigilant and guard not only our resources but the minds of our youth.”
Nanawagan rin si Torres sa mga mambabatas na makiisa sa paglilinis ng gobyerno mula sa mga corrupt bureaucrats, “while also enacting measures that ensure terrorist recruiters are held accountable under the law.” Kris Jose
