MANILA, Philippines – PINANGUNAHAN ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ang pagpapasinaya sa Calunasan Small Reservoir Irrigation Project (SRIP) sa Bohol.
Tinatayang mapahuhusay nito ang agricultural productivity ng 400 magsasaka sa lalawigan, ayon sa Presidential Communications Office (PCO).
“The project was inaugurated by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Friday, where he unveiled the project marker together with National Irrigation Administration Administrator Eduardo Guillen, ” ang sinabi pa rin ng PCO.
Nauna rito, sinabi ni Pangulong Marcos na ito’y “always breath of fresh air’ na makita ang infrastructure project na maayos na ginawa at natapos.
Nakatayo sa munisipalidad ng Calape, ang Calunasan SRIP ay inaasahang matutubigan ang 300 ektarya ng lupang sakahan, ditektang mapakikinabangan ng mga magsasaka sa kalapit na komunidad, kabilang na ang 4 na barangay , gaya ng Calunasan, Abucayan Sur, Lucob, at Bentig.
“With a total cost of P813 million, the project is currently 97.94 percent complete. The remaining works, including slope protection and the construction of a view deck, are scheduled for completion by November 23, 2025,” ang sinabi pa rin ng PCO.
Ang dam at irrigation facilities ay ‘fully operational’ simula nang i-test run ito noong August 20, nagbigay ng serbisyo sa mga lokal na magsasaka. KRIS JOSE
