MANILA, Philippines – Binigyan ng Committee on Appropriations ng House of Representatives ang Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) ng dagdag pang panahon para suriin ang proposed 2026 DPWH budget.
Sa pagpapatuloy ng deliberasyon ng 2026 national budget nitong Miyerkules, Setyembre 10, binasa ni chairman Nueva Ecija 1st District Rep. Mikaela Angela Suansing, ang liham mula sa DPWH na humihingi ng extension ng deadline.
Nagmosyon naman sina Baguio Rep. Mauricio Domogan at Aurora Rep. Rommel Rico Angara para sa extension na sinegundahan at inaprubahan ng komite.
“Considering the volume of items and documents requiring review, together with other matters that must likewise be addressed by the Department, it is respectfully requested that the deadline for the submission of the revised budget programs be extended to 15 September 2025 (Monday),” saad sa liham ni DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon sa Kamara.
“This extension will allow us to exercise greater diligence and prudence in reviewing the National Expenditure Program,” dagdag pa niya.
Dahil dito ay ipinagpaliban ng House committee ang diskusyon sa proposed DPWH budget, “pending the submission of its revised budget programs.”
