MANILA, Philippines – Isang magnitude 7.8 na lindol ang tumama sa Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky region sa Russia nitong alas-2:58 ng madaling araw, Biyernes, ayon sa US Geological Survey.
Ayon sa USGS, ang lindol ay may lalim na 10 km (6.21 miles).
Nag saad ng Tsunami Warning ang US National Weather Service’s Pacific Tsunami Warning Center sa Hawaii matapos maganap ang lindol.
Samantala, sinabi ng Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology na “there is no tsunami threat to the Philippines from this earthquake.”
“Hazardous tsunami waves are possible for coasts located within 1000 km of the earthquake epicenter,” saad ng PHIVOLCS. RNT/MND
