MANILA, Philippines – Iginiit ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) nitong Sabado, Setyembre 27 na ang pinakahuling pagbisita ng mga opisyal ng Philippine Embassy sa The Netherlands kay dating pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ay isinagawa sa isang “professional, nonintrusive and respectful manner.”
Sa pahayag, tinukoy ng DFA ang International Criminal Court (ICC) sa pagsasabing ang pagbisita sa detention center ay “strictly conducted with the approval or at the request of the person in detention.”
“It can be underscored that the consular visit was made by career consular officials of the Embassy in a professional, nonintrusive and respectful manner, and not by any other supposed agents of the government,” dagdag ng DFA.
Pagdating naman sa lagay ng kalusugan ng dating Pangulo, sinabi ng DFA na “Philippine Government has no information on such matter, and inquiries about it are best referred to the ICC Spokesperson.”
Ang pahayag ay kasunod ng paglalarawan ni Vice President Sara Duterte na ang pagbisita ay isang “sham welfare check” na walang permiso mula sa kanyang pamilya. RNT/JGC
