MANILA, Philippines – Nagsimula nang paganahin ng Department of Transportation-Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (DOTr-MRT-3) ang tatlong four-car Dalian trains nitong Sabado, Oktubre 18 “extending the deployment of said trains to weekends as well.”
Sa pahayag, sinabi ng DOTR-MRT-3 na ang deployment ng four-car trains tuwing weekend ay bahagi ng hakbang nito na mapaginhawa ang byahe ng mga pasahero.
Ito ay kasunod ng pilot testing ng anim na four-car Dalian trains deployment sa MRT-3 na mag-ooperate tuwing rush hour, o mula alas-7 ng umaga hanggang alas-9 ng umaga, “in line with the directive of Transportation Acting Secretary Giovanni Lopez.”
“The four-car trains can accommodate more passengers per trip than the standard three-car trains, making them an effective measure to increase capacity and shorten passenger buildup in stations,” sinabi pa ng DOTr-MRT-3.
Ang four-car Dalian train ay unang pinatakbo sa MRT-3 noong Agosto.
Matatandaan na sa State of the Nation Address (SONA) ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., sinabi niya na pinagsisikapan ng pamahalaan na mapatakbo ang mga nakatenggang Dalian trains na binili noon pang 2014. RNT/JGC
