MANILA, Philippines – Ipinag-utos ni Department of Transportation (DOTr) Acting Secretary Giovanni Lopez ang paglilipat ng P50 milyong pondo na para sana sa pagbili ng mga bagong sasakyan ng ahensya, patungo sa pagpapabuti na lamang ng mga pasilidad ng Land Transportation Office (LTO) at Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) para sa mga customer nito.
Sa kalatas na inilabas nitong Sabado, Oktubre 18, sinabi ng DOTR na nag-isyu si Lopez ng memorandum na may petsang Oktubre 16 na nag-uutos ng reallotment “to improve existing waiting/client areas in their respective offices.”
Kabilang dito ang paglalagay ng air conditioning units, provision ng water dispensers at mga sapat na upuan.
Ayon kay Lopez, ang kautusan ay “in compliance with the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. to give the Filipino people the public transport and services that they need and deserve.”
Dahil dito, sinabi ni Lopez na “the DOTr together with its sectoral offices such as the LTO and LTFRB shall undertake measures to improve the delivery of services including the enhancement of facilities used by the general public.”
