MANILA, Philippines – Isang 27-taong-gulang na corrections officer na nakatalaga sa New Bilibid Prison (NBP) sa Muntinlupa ang arestado sa isang buy-bust operation noong Nobyembre 2.
Ang suspek, kilala sa alyas na Paulo at taga-Sta. Rosa City, Laguna, ay nahuli sa Barangay Poblacion, Muntinlupa. Nakuha sa kanya ang 19.4 gramo ng shabu na nagkakahalaga ng P131,920, isang motorsiklo, at isang Glock 17 9mm pistol na may bala.
Ang operasyon ay isinagawa ng Muntinlupa Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit, katuwang ang Inter-Agency Collaborative Group (IACG) at ang Directorate for Intelligence and Investigation ng Bureau of Corrections.
Ani Brig. Gen. Randy Arceo, district director ng Southern Police District: “This operation exposes that no one is above the law. We will not tolerate any individual, regardless of rank or position, who chooses to betray public trust by engaging in the illegal drug trade.”
Ang suspek ay kasalukuyang nasa custody ng pulisya at haharap sa kaso batay sa Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002). RNT
