MANILA, Philippines – LUMIKHA si Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ng isang inter-agency committee para sa development at promosyon ng sports tourism sa Pilipinas.
Binuo ng Pangulo ang National Sports Tourism Inter-Agency Committee (NST-IAC) sa pamamagitan ng Administrative Order No. 38.
“The NST-IAC is hereby created for the purpose of harmonizing, coordinating, and overseeing the development, promotion, and implementation of sports tourism initiatives,” ang nakasaad sa AO.
Pangangasiwaan din ng Komite ang bidding at pagho-host ng international sporting events at pabilisin ang large-scale domestic sports tourism activities.
Ang komite ay uupuan ng Philippine Sports Commission bilang chairperson, habang ang Department of Tourism naman ang magsisilbi bilang vice-chairperson.
Ang mga miyembro ay magmumula sa Department of the Interior and Local Government, Department of Budget and Management, Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority, Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation, at dalawa ay private sector representatives mula sa tourism sector.
Sa kabilang dako, maaaring imbitahan ng NST-IAC ang ibang ahensya ng gobyerno, gayundin ang local government units, non-government organizations, civil society groups, academe, at iba pang stakeholders bilang observers at/o resource persons para makatulong sa pagganap sa “duties and functions” nito.
