MANILA, Philippines — Hinamon ni Davao City 1st District Rep. Paolo Duterte si ACT Teachers party-list Rep. Antonio Tinio na bumisita sa Davao at tanungin ang mga residente kung nakaranas sila ng pagbaha, bilang tugon sa alegasyon ni Tinio ng iregularidad sa flood control projects ng lungsod.
“We build, we deliver, we protect our people — while others just talk and pretend to investigate. So here’s my advice to Tinio: come to Davao, walk the riverbanks, see the projects, and talk to the people whose homes no longer flood because of those structures. Then maybe you’ll realize the only thing missing in your so-called investigation is the truth,” ani Duterte.
“Until then, stop using Davao as your political punching bag. We don’t owe anyone an apology for doing our job right,” dagdag pa niya.
Binigyang-diin ni Duterte na ang mga flood control projects ay na-inspeksyon ng Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) at Commission on Audit (COA).
“Every single flood-control project along the Davao and Matina Rivers was implemented, inspected, and validated by the DPWH and COA. The structures exist. They are serving the people. They are not ‘ghosts’ — unlike the kind of politics some people keep reviving every time they need attention.”
Inihayag ni Tinio na nararapat imbestigahan ang umano’y iregularidad sa mga proyekto na nagkakahalaga ng mahigit P4 bilyon, kabilang ang double funding, pagbabago ng lokasyon, kulang na sukat, kontrata na walang detalye, at mga proyekto na hindi nakalista sa pambansang budget.
Inakusahan ni Duterte si Tinio ng paggamit sa Davao para sa politika, habang itinuro ni Tinio na patuloy na kinikwestiyon ng Makabayan ang gobyerno sa mga isyu sa budget, kabilang ang 2025 budget at vetoed line items na nakaapekto sa edukasyon. RNT
