MANILA, Philippines – Pinangunahan ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ang pormal na pambansang paglulunsad ng Chairship ng Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) ng Pilipinas sa 2026.
Ang tema para sa susunod na taon ay “Navigating our Future, Together,” Asean, nakatutok sa tatlong prayoridad: ‘peace and security anchors; prosperity corridors; at people empowerment.’
“These will direct Asean’s efforts to strengthen dialogue and cooperation on regional security, deepen economic integration through innovation and sustainability, and uplift the lives and resilience of our peoples,” ayon kay Pangulong Marcos sa isang seremonya na idinaos sa Foro De Intramuros sa Maynila.
Sinabi ng Pangulo na ang chairship ng bansa ay nakatutok sa responsable at ethical use ng artificial intelligence (AI) para sa ‘security challenges, early warning systems, maritime domain awareness, at humanitarian assistance at disaster response.’
“By promoting the safe, ethical, responsible, equitable, and sustainable adoption of AI in areas such as trade facilitation, digitalization, and innovation, we aim to enhance regional competitiveness, support micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and unlock new opportunities for inclusive and sustainable growth,” ang pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.
Idagdag pa rito, mapagtatagumpayan ng Pilipinas ang responsableng paggamit ng AI para linangin ang pagkamalikhain ng mga kabataan at galugarin ang
AI-driven solutions na makatutulong sa Asean countries na isulong ang silver economy.
“Of course, AI will not replace our human touch; rather, it will magnify our capacity to care, to teach, and to uplift communities across Asean,” ani Pangulong Marcos.
Mararanasan naman ng mga magpapartisipa sa Asean-related meetings and activities sa susunod na taon ang “spirit of the Filipino people” habang nagtatakda na ang Pilipinas ng venues sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng bansa gaya ng Maynila, Cebu, Bohol, Boracay, Laoag, Iloilo, Tagaytay, at Clark.
“Each of these places will host ASEAN meetings and events that celebrate our diversity, showcase our culture, and advance our shared goals,” ayon sa Pangulo.
“Together, these venues tell the story of a nation that mirrors ASEAN itself—diverse yet united, traditional yet forward-looking, and increasingly future-ready through innovation and technology,” aniya pa rin. (KRIS JOSE)
